Unexpected Colin Firth

The other day my BFF came over and we decided to watch a movie via streaming Netflix (best invention ever). We found this movie called Relative Values based on a Noel Coward play and starring Julie Andrews, so we decided it looked like fun.

We didn't pay attention to other cast members before starting the movie, so imagine our surprise and delight when it turned out to star Colin Firth! You have to understand how much we adore him. It's kind of our 'thing'.

The film came out in 2000, so it's Colin Firth circa Pride and Prejudice, but playing against 'type', by playing a waggish, er, 'confirmed bachelor' let's say, since the movie was set in the 50's. He was adorable and absolutely fantastic in the role.

I recommend the movie if you're looking for something light and fun and clever and pleasant and nicely acted. Or if you just want to gaze adoringly at Colin Firth for awhile.
