So, as you know I pride myself on more or less knowing the basic minutia about All Things British, because that's how I roll. Therefore I found it really funny that I was completely fooled by the fact that salt and pepper shakers are opposite!
What are you talking about, I hear you cry. Well, here in the US, the salt shaker has always been the one with more holes in it. There, in Good Ol' Blighty it's the other way around. I realised this on our first night, and said to myself, 'oh, must remember that.' but the next day at lunch, I completely forgot and wound up sprinkling pepper all over my chips.
It just made me laugh.
And I still have tons of photos I need to share with you all. I'm just trying to find the time to go through them, and post the best ones.
Meanwhile, my wedding date is tentatively set for May 27th. Soon, I know, but I'm not getting any younger!
Question for any of my British friends who might know this - I know I could look it up, but I'm lazy - during your processional in the beginning of the wedding, does your bridesmaids/maid of honour go first before the bride, or after? Here they generally go first.
I'm having one attendant, and Dave The Fiancee is having one, and we're going to have the nieces be flower girls - I have 4, he has one, they are all adorable. Basically they are 6 years old to 3 years old. Possible recipe for disaster, but whatever.
Oh, and finally - I keep forgetting to mention this - on the plane ride out, there was an audio book thing one could listen to that was David Tennant reading classic vampire stories.
