Shut up, George

In my continuing series of telling people in the news to STFU, I was going to MST the Shrub's speech from last night, but frankly, it's really long, and there are people out there who would do a much better job than I. Plus, just trying to read it makes me want to smash things, and thinking about it to much makes me start to shake with rage, and that's not a good way to develop inner peace.

I will say he did managed to use a lot of words without actually saying anything useful, and I did the following count:

September 11 – mentioned 5 times
Freedom – mentioned 21 times
Terrorists - mentioned 27 times

Now back to your regularly scheduled program

5 times in a 30 minute speech = every 6 minutes.

Just sayin'.

That was just perfectly put. It made me laugh because it was far too familiar!

I was going to figure out a drinking game based on his speech, and then I realized I probably didn't have enough alcohol.

I think of Movie!Omar Bradley's quote, originally made to Movie!Patton: "You don't know when to shut up, George!"

I tried to watch some of it but it was too boring. Like you said, a lot of words without saying anything.

Why does no one call him on this ridiculous link he keeps making between Iraq and 9/11? Why is it that there hasn't been a CNN primetime special, or a segment on 60 Minutes juxtaposing what Bush said then versus what he's saying now? "Uh, excuse me. No WMDs, no link to 9/11, you're outright lying and people are sucking it up in the name of patriotism. WTF?!" Why why why isn't there outrage?
