You know it's Christmas when...

Your child comes down with a very contagious disease.

In our case, Pink Eye. Which, by the way, isn't pink.

And a double ear infection, but I don't know how contagious that is.

But, I say cheerfully, better this weekend than next weekend, right? Right.

Ear infections are usually just complications from a virus, usually a head cold. The virus might be contagious, but adult ears shouldn't be affected because of the larger eustacian tubes.

Pinkeye is actually just a symptom, not a disease. Whatever's causing it might be contagious or it might not.

When I was 11 I had infections in both eyes and both ears, but no one else in my family of 6 got sick at all.
