From [livejournal.com profile] ladyiapetus, who asked me about the following 7 icons:

, , , , , ,

This is in honour of Charlie. He learned about four-leaf clovers in the beginning of the summer, and decided he wanted to find them. I was concerned, of course, as he tends to fixate on things and the odds of finding a four-leaf clover were large, and I was afraid he was going to get upset. When he found one I thought, oh good, we can relax now. Then he found another one. And another one. At last count, he'd found 164. That isn't including the 10 or so 5 leaf clovers he found, and some that we lost before we could get them in the book.

It's a quote from Sir Samuel Vimes, a recurring and beloved character in Terry Pratchett's Discworld. It's from Night Watch, and I just really liked the quote because, yeah, it should be.

This came from some discussion somewhere, wherein we speculated what Hamlet's blog would be like, since really he's like the original Emo Kid. It was funny.
So, now that I've explained my seven icons, its your turn. Leave a comment and I'll pick seven of your icons, which you will then have to explain. Ready? Go.

I got this from someone awhile ago - it is just a very appropriate image to go with Memes, as this post illustrates, since one tends to do them just because other people are. (And they're fun, but still...)

This is another Pratchett quote. It's from The Thief of Time, but I think it sums up life. Life is imperfect but occasionally you can have a perfect moment. It might not last, but it's there.

Queen Elisabeth I was always my hero. This is her incarnation as presented by Blackadder in Series 2. I loved the way she was portrayed, so silly and self-absorbed. This particular 'quote' was from the last episode where she tells Blackadder and, er, Stephen Fry's character that she wasn't going to pay the ransom Hugh Laurie was asking, and signs off the letter with a cheerie "Bye-ee!" Makes me laugh every time.

The Doctor and Martha went to see Shakespeare, and when he came on stage, the Doctor is all eager to hear what brilliant words the Bard will utter, and he utters these not so brilliant words. I just love the idea of this being a "Shakespeare quote". Also, brilliant episode. The Doctor and the Bard together? Love.

So, now that I've explained my seven icons, its your turn. Leave a comment and I'll pick seven of your icons, which you will then have to explain. Ready? Go. (but probably not until this evening as this takes awhile and I am at work.)
