Doctor Who Stuff

Seriously, people in charge of Doctor Who...

Stop. Making. Me. Cry.

It's embarassing.

Every single episode so far has made me cry to various degrees.

Even the stupid Confidential of the first episode - Partners in Crime - made me cry, thanks to the tribute to the actor who was to play Donna's father, but he died.

I kinda figured there'd be a 'Jenny death scene', but it still got me.

For some reason, I was sure she was going to regenerate evil, but I don't know why. Possibly because of the end of last season. Remember when the female hand picked up the ring from the Master's grave? I was thinking maybe that was her.

AND...I cried like Martha when the Hath died.

And yay Donna for being smart. Although "I'm going to travel with that man forever" never ends well, does it?

Sort of 'classic' Who with the Doctor in one place and a companion in another.

I was pleased Jenny wasn't a daughter from a relationship, and I liked her, but she was still a bit of a Mary Sue, wasn't she? In a good way, but still...

I did wish the Doctor mentioned something about his granddaughter, when he talked about being a parent before.

The 'lots of running' thing was funny.

ETA: I didn't know this. That's kind of cool

I was kind of hoping we'd be spared the "character sacrificing his/her life" thing this week. It was a fish and should have been able to breathe under water.

The bit with the Doctor being all parental was nice, though.

I was kinda sad that it wasn't Susan's parent. I think that would have been interesting. Though about Jenny's Mary Sue'ness I think all of the soldiers would have been able to do what she did.

Also, I think the Doctor mentioned that he had more than one kid when he was talking to Donna about Jenny.

So far, Donna's my favorite companion because she's not afraid of calling the Doctor an utter idiot.

I feel like Jenny is definitely either going to feature in the season finale or get her own spinoff series.

I cried when the Hath died too! Even though I was yelling "YOU'RE A FISH, YOU CAN BREATHE IN WATER." I guess it was more tar than water, though. My nephew was really concerned about Martha, and declared that he "wanted the brown lady to find a new friend." Yikes.

Jenny was a bit of a Mary Sue. What I don't understand is why she had those amazing gymnastic abilities. The Doctor obviously isn't able to do that (though I'd love to see him try), and apparently none of the other soldiers could do that because they didn't follow her...so where did that come from?

So...the big question to me is why did she revive but not regenerate. My husband said the breath effect reminded him of something with the Master; I will have to go back and look at those eps. I wonder if they aren't setting up a spin-off myself. We definitely haven't seen the last of Jenny.

OMG of course she's Peter Davison's daughter. I can totally see it now- she's gorgeous, he's gorgeous (seriously, I know Tom Baker is the perennial favourite, but give me Davison. Not even when he was on Who, I'll take him now. Yum), I forgot where I was going with this, but cool!

Actually I really hated the Hath death. It was too obvious. As for Jenny ... I really hope they will do something nice with her (and no, I don't want a spin-off)
