Yesterday I was talking to my company's travel agent, and, just to torture myself, asked about packages to the UK.

The nice lady looked into it and found a deal that includes a 6 night stay (6th night free) in a 3 star hotel in Kensington and round trip airfare for Charlie and me for $2,842. And it includes an English breakfast.

That's pretty darn good.

Still it is money I know I shouldn't spend.

But I didn't tell her no yet.

I said I had to think about it.

I am pathetic y/y?

Sounds very reasonable for central London, where prices are pretty scary. If at all possible you should treat yourself and Charlie- would this be your first trip there?

You only have one life to live girl and one time in charlie's life to take him to a place that holds magic for both of you. I know how you feel you should not spend the money but what the hell is it for so what can the take from you, it sure wont be the time that you both went to london together as that will be locked in your hearts and memories forever, I really should not have spent the money and went to vergina either but you know what I am glad I did the time with Mel even though it was in the car and with dog will alway's be in my heart. And I will treasure those more than anything else. Just go girl screw the creditors and go, have fun with your son make memories that no one will ever be able to take from you.

You're not pathetic in the least! I think you and Charlie deserve it after the year you've had. I would look at the hotel's website and make sure it's really a nice hotel. There are some lovely ones in Kensington, and then there are some not so nice ones. Just to be on the safe side, stars or no. But otherwise it sounds like a really good deal, and I'd go for it if I were you.
