This has to be the creepiest and most fascinating thing I've seen in awhile. Tombstone Generator. I couldn't actually bring myself to put my name on it. Superstitious, I guess. Still...fun, in a twisted sort of way.

Movie thing from zambonigirl who passed the baton on to me.

1) Total number of films you own on DVD/video: Probably around 100. My husband goes to this store that sells DVDs really cheaply, so we've gotten more lately.

2) The last film I bought: About a Boy, starring Hugh Grant. I love redemption films and this one is funny and touching at the same time, which is, to me, the best combination.

3) The last film I watched: Groundhog Day, although it was on Comcast Digital cable, so I don't know if that counts. The Incredibles plays frequently in out house lately.

4) Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me:In no particular order:

1. Escape to Witch Mountain I Loved that movie as a kid, and when my sister got it for me as a birthday gift last year, I was pleased to see that it held up well. Yes, the special effects are a bit cheesy by today's standards, but still a good film. Back when Disney still knew what it was doing and didn't have to rely on Pixar to create good movies. (and yes, I wanted to have the same powers as Tia when I was a kid!)

2. When Harry Met Sally It's just a wonderful romantic comedy, and it draws me in every time I watch it.

3. Labyrinth Jim Henson, David Bowie and a lovely escapist fantasy. Who could ask for more? Besides, if I had to get philosophical about it, it came out around the time I was making the serious transition into adulthood, so the theme really resonated with me.

4. Ghostbusters Still funny even - arugh - 20 odd years later. Bill Murray's deadpan delivery gets me every time.

5. Bridget Jones' Diary Come on, Hugh Grant and Colin Firth! Can't get better than that!

thesibylqueen - we've just recently friended each other, and I'm intersted to know her movie tastes.

slammerkinbabe - I already know she has good taste in books, and I'm wondering what her movie tastes are

jessii_6 - She is a big movie fan, and I'm interested to see which ones she'd pick for this meme.

dragonwhishes Because she's my cyberdaughter, and I'm betting she likes many of the same films I do!

junediamanti I am interested to hear her taste in movies, and she always has something amusing to say.

Ooooooh, Labyrinth. A true classic.

I wonder how many people put "Pepperoni and cheese" on that tombstone thingy.... it's what I thought of immediately when I saw your title. Hehehe.

Dude, Ghostbusters has to top mine. That movie is freakin' hysterical. It's also a family tradition. Three or four times a year we all get together to watch it and laugh and laugh and laugh.

On the extreme opposite end of the spectrum, Monster is gutwrenching and beautifully done. Not terribly accurate as a biography, really, but an amazingly human film anyway. It is very difficult to watch, though - pretty traumatic, so be forewarned.

Happiness is another one that I love but which is too squicky for most people to watch. Todd Solondz, so, yeah. It's brutally cheerful and horribly compelling.

Silence of the Lambs is pretty rockin' too. Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins outdid themselves.

Dustin Hoffman blew me away in Rain Man. That was a great flick.

I'm not sure those are my absolute top 5, but they're up there.

I saw Labrynth when it came out in the theatre, cause I'm that old, and I loved it. First of all, Jim Henson is just the best ever, and his death left a hole in entertainment that allowed crappy things like Elmo and Barney into the universe. And yeah, David Bowie in tight pants. Hee.

And I adopted the whole 'I wonder what your basis for comparison is' philosophy regarding fairness into my life. Makes sense.

I have the soundtrack even. :)

And the "Basis for comparison" line is the best one in the movie. I have a whole theory that Jareth took the baby to teach her a lesson, and he didn't intend to turn the baby into a goblyn at all. But that's just me. Please tell me where the story is!
