Nothing to do at work today. Nothing. All the boss types are gone. I'm kind of hoping maybe they'll let me slip out early, since the show opens tonight. I could use a rest.
In Charlie news, his teacher, (who by the way totally gets him, and totally knows that the other kids got Charlie to repeat the stuff he got in trouble for) is the high school basketball coach, and since Charlie has been expressing such an interest in the game, he said Charlie can be the waterboy for the team.
He is so excited. Even if he keeps saying he is going to be the coach.
The Collingswood Community Theatre Group are putting on Nunsense this weekend, too. I'm rather hoping there's no audience crossover. Either a 400 year old classic or a 25 year old musical. Which would you choose?
For some reason we feel a rivalry with the community group. Mostly its because the township gives them money, and they don't give it to us. I don't think they 'get' us.
I did one show with them, Steel Magnolias, but they mostly do musicals and, since I'm not a singer, there's no chance I'd ever get a decent role in any of them, so there's no point in me even trying, and the one time I suggested Shakespeare, the director acted like I suggested we get naked and do an interpretive dance.
There's a definite disconnect.
Okay, this is totally rambly. Pathetic. Someone amuse me.
