I think I'm gonna cry

I was going to post about the fact my babysitter is annoying me again; and I may post later, but this story on CNN.com make me realise how my problem is, well, not such a big problem.

The U.S. military cannot confirm or accept responsibility for the incident involving the Kassim family.

And I don't blame the soldiers. I really don't. But it is just another story that shows how utterly useless this war is, how violent and sad and terrible it is. There is no glory in this war. Saddam is gone. What. Ever. I think it really wasn't America's place to get rid of him, anyway. Perhaps there was a way to help the Iraqis do it themselves - "Until the become conscious they cannot rebel" after all. And now, has something better taken his place? I have seen reports that in general Iraqis believe it is good that Saddam is gone, but have their lives improved? No.

Was there an easier way to get rid of Saddam? No.Actually, war was the easy way. Finding a peaceful solution would have been the hard way.

dear God, how awful. I agree with you; whatever good we've done must, if we're to be honorable, be weighed against the harm done (including 100,000 civilians dead).

I like the part where we couldn't assassinate him because THAT'S illegal, but we can declare war on his whole country and kill lots of civilians because that's LEGAL.
