Happy Friday
Been AFK for a couple of days, more or less - took a few days off and went to the beach with my son, my boyfriend and my family. It was nice. Chaotic, but nice.
Boyfriend is not a beach person. Pale Irish skin and all that, but he gamely came along, and even went in the ocean with me, which just goes to show what a great guy he actually is.
I can't believe summer is drawing to a close. It went fast. I got the letter in the mail about starting school. High School. Scary thought.
His 14th birthday is coming up, as I mentioned before. I think what I'm going to do is tell him to tell his friends that he'll be at the pool on Saturday the 3rd, we'll have cake and snack food, and would they like to join him. I think not doing a big 'formal' party is the best idea. Hopefully it will be nice weather.
I need to make a new 'Charlie's Mum' icon, because the one I have Charlie is a good foot shorter than he is now. It's a hard thing to accept, but I can no longer buy him clothes in the 'kid' section. I have to graduate to the 'young men' area.
My cat is doing very well, by the way. She's filling out nicely, and her fur is sleek and shiny. She's very sweet. It's amazing, really. She's very domestic, and she was born in the wild as it were. She just really loves people. She meows all the time. I think she's part Siamese.
How are you all spending the remaining few weeks of 'official' summer?
