There are an awful lot of Carolyns in my Charlie's life. His aide last year was a Carolyn, his favourite minder/friend is Carolyn, my full name is Carolyn, and his science teacher's name is Carolyn. Weird, huh.
So, guess what? The middle school is having a dance on Friday, and Charlie wants to go! His first dance! Well, his first 'at night' dance. They had a 6th grade dance last year.
He tells me he has a girlfriend. (who, by the way is NOT called Carolyn) I asked if she likes him back, and he said yes. I said, are you sure? You're not just following her around? and he says he is sure. I told her he should ask her to the dance. Will he? I don't know.
Am I ready for this sort of thing? Probably not.
