NaNoWriMo Mock 2

Flushed with the successful completion of last year's contest, I have signed myself up. The problem is, I have no story idea. I've been turning over various plots in my mind, and I'm not sure what I want to do.

The thing is, for ages I've wanted to write a good ghost story. I get really tired of the stories where the ghosts are all chainsaw murdering serial killers or, at best, somehow manage to cause physical damage to the living. I have been wondering if I could write a good, scary story.

I have had this one idea that I tried awhile ago, but I think the plot was all over the place. I thought I might give it another go, but it has to do with a girl who can see ghosts, and between various television shows with that same theme, and at least one YA series that already features said type of girl, I don't know if I should do it.

So...poll...

Did you ever finish your mystery story? Because I never read the ending and I really want to know how it ended!
Ghost stories = always fun.

I did actually. I was posting it on a different journal, but never finished.

I can email you the document, if you want.

YAY! Another Nanoer! I'm doing it too, because otherwise I'll never write anything.

I'd certainly enjoy a non-chainsaw-wielding ghost story. Keep us posted on your progress!

You're not going to like my answers at all...

But I'm sure that anything you write will be fine.

I like your answers just fine!

They sort of reflects why I'm hesitatant, really. I just don't know if I can come up with something intersting enough.

I think that no matter how many times a story has been done, you can always pull it off if you're a good enough writer. After all, how many stories are TRULY original? In something like 250,000 years of story-telling, I think just about everything's been covered.
