This is what 40 looks like...

I just had a really fun idea for my 40th birthday, even though it isn't until May.

Ready?

A 1967 themed party. Everyone can come dressed in the style of the time.

And I could do fondue, and play the Beatles music, and hang up beads and stuff.

What do you think? Would you come to a party like that?

I would so go to a party like that! That's a great idea! I wish I'd done that three years ago for my fortieth. Instead I celebrated it in Boston with some friends at a really good Indian restaurant, while we were all at the World SF Convention. So that was pretty good! Maybe I'll do it for my 50th!

I totally would.

I would!

I would have loved to have done something like that last May for my 40th. Groovy, babe, Grooooooovy!

I'd be there!!!
Sounds like fun! Maybe my sis will have that for her party when she turns 40 in Sept! LOL

Great idea! I'm 40 in August. Maybe I'll steal your idea.

I'm curious how many on your friends list were born in 67?

I've been to my first 40th party this year and it was pretty tame. I have no idea what/if anything/I'll do for mine. My birthday is the 4th of July, so it tends to have the theme for it prechosen and not one of those things you do on another day.

I'm not sure how many on my flist were born in 67. Mostly before and after, I think. I should do a poll!

I'll bet people sing 'born on the 4th of July' at you a lot, yeah?

[identity profile] susanthecurious.livejournal.com 2007-02-06 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
Supprisingly enough, I don't remember people singing the song to me since I was a little kid-and remember it far more for the Uncle Sam part than my birthday.

Sounds like a great idea

That would be an awesome party. Now I'm thinking, maybe for my 25th in 2008 I'll have a "1983 party". Spandex, leggings, scrunchies, ripped jeans, side ponytails, neon... haha!

That's a cool idea. I want to see photos.

[identity profile] charliesmum.livejournal.com 2007-02-06 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, man, a 1983 party. Sheesh. I was a sophmore in high school! :)

Neon was more 84. 83 was totally the ripped up sweatshirts and leggings. Oh, and long sweaters, or sweater dresses with tights.

I always liked the 'quarter of a century' theme for the 25th.

Can I come to your party, pretty please? I have a sixties-type bob hairstyle already and I can do that toilet-flushing dance move too!

:D

I'd love for you to come to my birthday party!

Rock on!
