I think I'm gonna cry

I was going to post about the fact my babysitter is annoying me again; and I may post later, but this story on CNN.com make me realise how my problem is, well, not such a big problem.

The U.S. military cannot confirm or accept responsibility for the incident involving the Kassim family.

And I don't blame the soldiers. I really don't. But it is just another story that shows how utterly useless this war is, how violent and sad and terrible it is. There is no glory in this war. Saddam is gone. What. Ever. I think it really wasn't America's place to get rid of him, anyway. Perhaps there was a way to help the Iraqis do it themselves - "Until the become conscious they cannot rebel" after all. And now, has something better taken his place? I have seen reports that in general Iraqis believe it is good that Saddam is gone, but have their lives improved? No.

Was there an easier way to get rid of Saddam? No.Actually, war was the easy way. Finding a peaceful solution would have been the hard way.

*hops down off soapbox.*

Done now.

Well...duh....

From the Department of Defense website:

We are also going against a very dedicated enemy, and sometimes we forget that," Hagee continued. "They believe just as strongly - I think incorrectly, but just as strongly - in what they are trying to achieve as we believe in what we are trying to achieve."

Of course they believe they're right. If they didn't, they wouldn't be doing it, now would they? And of course you think they're incorrect, or you wouldn't be doing what you're doing.

And now the Baby Sitter Dilemma, in Poll form

Basically the situation is this. My sitter told me she was going to start asking for an extrra $25 a week for 'entertainment expenses' during the summer, so she can take the boys places. I already told her once that I couldn't afford to pay her any more than I already am, and, while I'm willing to give money for Charlie, $25 a week sounds like she is expecting me to pay for both boys. (She's done that before. She wanted to take them somewhere, and when I gave her the fee for Charlie, she said she needed the fee for both boys.) My friend is planning on staying home this whole summer, and offered to take Charlie (I'd pay her) but I declined, because I didn't want to take the money away from my current sitter, but this situation is just getting on my last nerve. So...Poll.
