Charlie's future...

So, cloudofcalm, who lives in the UK, has this opportunity to come to the States for a bit, but unfortunately the school she got assigned to is 100% not what she wanted, the people in charge of this thing obviously not paying attention to what her strenghs are. However, everything that is wrong for cloudofcalm seems like it would be a perfect place for Future Charlie to go to.

Peddie School, is a prep school and they seem to focus on more scientific and technical things in their curriculum, which is really right up Charlie's street. And it is in New Jersey, too.

Naturally there are some issues. One, Charlie is only eight. Two, I can't afford a private school. (although apparently 42% of students have some sort of financial aid.) Three, I don't know if it would be a good environment for him - not sure how an Autistic child would fare in that type of setting. Four, I don't know if I could bear to have him board away from me, and I don't know that there is a public transportation system that would get him from here to Heightstown.

Nonetheless, I had mommy-visions of him trotting off to class in his dockers and Izod shirt, blond hair glinting in the autumn sun, his arms full of books with impressive titles that have words like theory' and 'quantum' in them.

ETA: Turns out the husband works very close to where the school is located. So he could drive Charlie there. Some day. Six years from now.
