Ug. The 'quota time' is back on here at work, so I can't go on LJ as often. Hate that.
We have started a new theatre company. Whether or not it will be successful remains to be seen, but we did come up with what we all agreed was a good name.
We wanted something sort of irreverent that basically hinted at what we did without limiting us or scaring off people - I think one of the problems with having "Shakespeare" in the title were all the people who immediately assume Shakespeare=boring. We also didn't want to limit ourselves to a town - another problem with using "Collingswood" in the name is it was hard to get outside businesses interested in promoting us, because they tended to feel like they'd be sending people to Collingswood instead of their town, etc.
We want this new group to have more of a sense of 'hey kids, lets put on a play' rather than 'let's be a serious group that Does Important Things for the Township' as well.
So...our new name is.....
Dead Playwrights Repertory
What do you think?
We're also pondering ideas for a logo, so any thoughts you all might have let me know and I'llsteal them pass them along to the group.
PS: Appropriate Icon is Appropriate
