In other news, I'm still watching Series 2 of Dr Who with the 10th Doctor. ( cut for vague spoilers for Series 2, tenth doctor, mostly episodes 9 and 10 )

Oh! Almost forgot. I got my copy of Wintersmith yesterday. Hurrah for new Pratchett.

Off to take the boy to soccer.

So I got an email that tells me my extra icons are about to go bye-bye unless I pay up, and the logical part of my brain is telling me not to bother, that I hardly use every icon I have anyway, and I can make do with what I have.

However, the other, much more aggressive part of my brain is jumping up and down and shouting, "Oh, noes! We can't lose the icons! We loves them precious!" and so forth.

In other news, I re-downloaded AOL IM so if anyone wants to message me, that'd be swell.

Was on Amazon.com, looking up the Muppet Show DVD (which, at $27.99, isn't a bad price) and there were some screen shots, and I took one, and I made an icon - see?

I am mostly posting because I want to share my new icon that I pretty much made all by myself using the picture from this website that sells the stickers, because, well, it's cool.

So, since technically it is my icon, if anyone wants it they can take it.

We in the office ordered pizza today, because it was that kind of a day and we got to talking about events in history - one woman was sharing her rememberances that started with President Kennedy getting shot and moving on from there. We all pretty much cover a decent age range, so it was fun seeing who remembered what. This made me decide to do the following poll, covering a couple of events from the 60's to the 80's to see what ya'all remember or at least know about. So...enjoy.

Calling anyone who is good at icon making. I need some assistance.

On Sunday, while on the boat in the evening, I got chilly, and my sister's SIL kindly loaned me a sweatshirt to wear. On the sweatshirt was a picture of this ( licence plate )

Being the LJ addict I am, I immediately thought, "This would make a great icon!" So I found the picture, as you see, but when I try to make it small enough to fit the LJ icon regulations, you can't read the smaller words, which ruins the whole (admittedly weak) joke.

So, is it possible to make this picture into a readable icon?

So I now have 25 icons. I'm trying to get an one icon that would match each subject that I tend to speak on, and some that match the more common emotions, (see icon) as well as ones that reflect my more rabid fandoms.

Here's a link to my icons so far, for anyone who cares. I found a couple of books ones by doing a Google search using 'book icons livejournal' in a site called galateas galleries, or something. They're pretty cool.

I need some Harry Potter ones, but I find my self being really picky about what I want. I think I'd rather have drawings vs. movie pictures. I just need to find some I like.

Anyway, this is probably an emensely boring subject to anyone who isn't me, so I'll shut up now.

I'm taking tomorrow off, so I'll be able to just play on the interweb to my heart's content and not have to pretend like I'm working when someone walks by. Hurrah!

Bad enough that the first thing I needed to do this morning was tell all of you about my problems, now I've just gone and given in and bought more icon space because I was tired of trying to decide which icons I could get rid of so I could add new ones. So now...Yay! Icons!

I just got 2 Labryinth icons from starbrite_icons and they are Teh Pretty! *points* and now I want more!

Will probably spend way too much time looking for good ones. I would like a 'WTF' one if someone can point me in the right direction. And more muppet ones. And maybe some Sting ones if they exist, and Harry Potter ones. I need more of those!
