Jun. 4th, 2007 02:10 pmI think I might have captured an appriton on my camera at the cemetary the other night. It very well could be my eyes trying to make patterns, so I've sent it along to the group to see if they can tell me - they have good programs that help clean up pictures, better than what I have anyway - so I'm not gettiing too excited, but how cool would that be.
Can you see anything? I'm not going to say were, or what it looks like to me, because I don't want to influence you.

You'll have to click on the photo and make it bigger to really be able to see it - it comes out darker when posted.
That night was really very interesting. Lots of people were having experiences, and I even had a couple of things happen to me. Nothing major, but still. At one point this dark shadow past right by my face. It wasn't a bat because there was no noise, and right before that happened, someone standing a few feet in front of me had an experience, and not long after that, a bunch of stuff started happening. It was nifty.

Weekend Update
May. 21st, 2007 03:51 pmFor those interested, the Four-Leaf Clover count is now up to 25. He said to me, and this is a direct quote, "In the future, I found 25,000."
Right. So the Ghost Weekend.
( Friday night was Fort Mifflin )
( Smithville Mansion )
What did everyone think of Doctor Who this weekend? Very Sci-fi horror movie, but once again, the bloody show brought tears to my eyes when Martha was talking to her mum. Plus the whole key/phone thing was so sweet. And that bald guy, Ashton, was hot. Just saying.
Heroes finale tonight. No House tomorrow. Pout.

I ain't afraid of no ghosts...
May. 18th, 2007 05:44 pmAt least I hope I'm not. Tonight is my first training night with the Ghost Research group. We are going to be taught how to use the equipment, and then if we are good little girls and boys* we'll have lots of time to try out what we've learned inside Fort Mifflin, a place where the SJGR have already had many interesting evidence as to its hauntedness.
So, I'll let you know tomorrow what, or who, I met on my journey.
Well, boy. There's only one male in the training group

Apr. 26th, 2007 07:44 amMe! That's who!
I got into the training program thing at SJGR!
There's a three month training program, and believe it or not, no guarantee I'll make it through! Apparently many people don't. They either don't like it, don't fit in with the group well enough - fitting in with the group is quite vital, apparently - or they just don't pass. Here are the things one needs to do for the training:
1. Cemetery Investigations - outdoor training, basic protocols, procedures and policies.
2. Indoor Training sessions - indoor training includes classroom time and equipment overview.
3. Equipment Training – classroom setting overview of all equipment
4. Introduction to Psychic Protection class
5. Overview of handbook, policies and procedures
6. Written Test
7. Practical Exam
I'm quite looking forward to number 4.
More later, I'm sure, once I get logged on and everything. I just wanted to share this bit of news.

Quick update
Apr. 25th, 2007 09:42 pmSo I did the interview thing. For the record, I wore this cute black shirt with purple flowers and these black trousers I had in my closet - thank goodness, with the not working in an office for over a year, I was severely lacking in dress casual clothes. Especially since the things I did have no longer fit.
There were 6 other people there besides me, two men and 4 women. We all were approximately the same age - early 30s and up, I'd guess. There were 8 people from the group there as well. We were shown this slide show that discussed what they did and how they did it, and then we were individually interviewed by two panels.
My first interview went well, I think. The first thing I was asked was, "What would you say to someone who was scared?" I said that I would tell them that it can't hurt them, and the best way to stay in control was to not let the fear take you over. That the entity is not trying to scare you, but just get your attention. That seemed to go well.
Then we talked about my claim to being sensitive, and I think I scored a point, because I mentioned an experience I had in this place near here, and it turns out they've documented some things in that house. So cool.
The second interview I think went well, but I'm not as sure. I didn't get as good a vibe, if you know what I mean. I think maybe I was trying too hard.
Ultimately they have room in their training session for 5 people, so I've a 50% of not getting in at all, simply because of space.. If that happens, I can try again in August.
The guy in charge said he'd send out an email tonight or tomorrow. As of no, there is no email. So we'll see.
I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but I do hope I get in. It really sounds like it is going to be interesting. And Dave, the guy who runs it, is all personal friends with the Ghosthunter guys on Sci-fi channel. How cool is that?

I might see dead people
Apr. 2nd, 2007 09:58 pmRight, so the other day I was watching this silly Discovery Channel series called "A Haunting" where they do a documentary style of thing on supposedly true haunted experiences, with the real people talking and actors re-inacting. Anyway, so I decide to try to find the real story on line because the show tends to take liberties, and was unsuccessful, but while I was on the ghost thing I decided to stop in at the South Jersey Ghost Research site to see if they had new stories, and it turned out they were accepting applications.
Ghost hunting is something that has always fascinated me so, just for fun I applied. Today they responded with the 2nd round of questions via email. If I pass that, then I get interviewed at the end of April.
It isn't a paying gig, mind you, but it is really interesting and I'd get to go on investigations and such like. Perhaps there is even a book in it somewhere. You never know.
So keep the fingers crossed, kay?
