About 1/2 way through the book

And I finally get to say I just finished the chapter where they won the 1st Quiddich match. I really enjoyed the fake out with the lucky serum thingy. And I am personally pleased with the, forgive me the use of this word just this once, Harry/Ginny ship. I like Ginny, and I think she is a good match for Harry. She got over the crush thing, and has proven she can hold her own. And frankly anyone who didn't see Ron and Hermione from a bazillion miles away...well...reading comprehension is obviously not their strong suit.
The character, Zomeldia Vane or whatever her name is, seems to be a nod at the typical Mary Sue. Well, if written by a loyal member of
deleterius that is.
The insights into Voldemort's early life is really interesting, even if it totally takes my Voldermort's born story completely into AU realm.
Love that Arthur got a promotion. The whole Snape teaching DADA was a twist I totally didn't see coming and I rather like how it enabled Harry to pursue his Auror dream. Oh, and Snape's explaination to Bella...well it makes a person pause, doesn't it?
Unfortunately I was spoiled as to who it is Tonks is pining for, but I rather hoped for that particular liason, so there you go.
Oh, and Poor Katie Bell. I hope she recovers.
And finally, considering Harry's track record of being right in the face of ridicule, you'd think people'd listen a bit more to his theroies about Draco.
Oh...(sorry) One could hope the relationship between Draco and his mom, as well as the implyed relationship between "Cissy" and Lucius will put paid to all the fan fiction depecting Draco and/or Narcissa as abused. But I doubt it.
Oh (really, I'll shut up in a minute) I also think the fact that being a captain of a team puts that person on equal footing explains why James became Head Boy if he was never a prefect. He was probably Quiddich captain. And indicates to me that Harry will be Head Boy. Maybe.
Right. I'll shut up now. Thanks to more babysitter woe that I shan't go into, I may have tomorrow afternoon to complete the book.
