One of the things I really admire about you is your vision of Future Charlie.
When I was small, I had a lot of problems paying attention to directions and interacting with other children. When I was in daycare, I had to take my playtime at naptime and my naptime at playtime, because none of the other kids wanted to play with me and the daycare workers didn't want to deal with me. I was even kicked out of one daycare, because apparently the strange things I said made a daycare worker cry. When I went into first grade, my teacher pushed to have me put in a remedial program. But my mum never gave up on me. She knew that while I had a hard time with things that seemed to come easily to other kids, I still deserved the same chance that every other kid got. She fought really hard for me.
You remind me of my mum in that way, and I know that Charlie is going to do wonderful things someday. Like any of us, he has strengths and challenges, and I think that your belief in him will help carry him over any difficulties he might encounter.
As for me, well, you may have noticed that I have a couple of degrees on my wall, and am doing all right for myself in the world after all. I have my mum to thank for that. :)
