Anyone know how to start a grassroots campaign?

I understand all the flags are going to be flying half-mast for 30 days in honor of former president Bonzo Regan, which is fine and dandy, but I couldn't help but think of all the young men and women, civilians and soldiers who have died and are dying in Iraq. So I thought to myself, 'I think all the flags should stay at half mast, in honor of the dead in Iraq and Afghanistan, until this stupid war is over.

So what do you think? Good idea? The internet is pretty good at passing silly things around, if this strikes anyone's fancy, then please spread the word.

I suppose I should write to my congressman or something, as well, in order to make it official.
