Original fiction and Mommy stories
Aug. 4th, 2004 03:49 pmI went to check out FictionPress because I really need to get back into original fiction, and I thought if I had a place to put something, I might get motivated. Unfortunately it seems to be filled with the writings of teenagers and tweens. Not that there is anything wrong with that - I just feel like I'm too old to go there.
And the other depressing thing is I can't find this story I wrote ages ago. I had it with me for years and years - I wrote it when I was in college for Cliff's sake - but I can't find it now. I has to be somewhere but I can't find it and I'm sad. And I really can't seem to come up with anything new. I used to write all the time. Not necessarily well, but frequently. And I know I occasionally came up with a poem or something that didn't suck. Now, not so much.
Anyway...on a more cheerful note, Last night while I was on the computer Charlie came into the room and said to me, quite seriously, "I need to check my email." (Daddy says that rather frequently, apparently.) Unfortunately, he doesn't get email. So I called my mom and my sister and asked them to email him so he'll have some email to check.
And, just for fun, here is a photo of ( Charlie as Death )
Well, not really. It was a face painting thing, and he wanted the skull.
Finally, I got the latest Piers Anthony "Xanth" novel in paperback. I read them mostly for sentimental reasons now. I started the series back in high school. He pales in comparison to Pratchett, of course, but the books are amusing.
