Stumbled across this poem I'd written a little while ago. Thought I'd share cause that's what I do.

November begins
with leftover Halloween candy
purchased for half price at the grocery store.
Soon candy corn gives way to
Indian corn
decorating the door,
a welcome home sign
for family members who gather for that
most American of holidays;
celebrating their thankfulness with
turkey for five, or twelve,
or two,
depending on how the family has grown
or gone.
November ends
With leftover pumpkin pie,
holiday shopping and wondering
at how quickly the year has flown,
while outside the trees rival the summer flowers
with their brilliance,
Reminding us
that even endings can be beautiful.

I'm at my wit's end with Charlie's problems at school. When he manages to get through a day in actual class, he seems to have trouble with the after school care. And my options on after school care are very limited. And I just don't think they understand exactly what Autism is. Possibly if he were one of those kids that sit in the corner rocking back and forth and muttering, they'd be fine, but since Charlie is so close to 'normal', I don't think they 'get' him. Gah. It is just exhausting. He is a wonderful boy, darn it.
Grumble grumble.

In happier news, I still like my job quite a lot. And...prepare to be jealous...I get to go to Newark tomorrow! Isn't that glamorous and exciting?

Well of course not. But I still like my job, so yay Newark! What I'm looking forward to is the chance to visit a landfill. Really. Scary, no?

I just need to say that everyone on my friends list are just super cool people. You all are interesting and nice and I like you. Just wanted you to know that. Thanks for virtually being there.

Right. "Ghost Hunters" is coming on SciFi Channel now. One of those oddly compelling shows. I recommend it.
