I wish I had Bridget Jones' problems...
Nov. 21st, 2004 09:26 amMy friend and I went to see the new Bridget Jones movie last night. It was cute. It had Colin Firth. Question to my British friends - how is Renee Z's accent? Crap? Pretty accurate? I thought she did better in the 2nd movie than the 1st. Anyway, cute movie overall, although one couldn't help but think, 'gee, what a problem, you've got Colin Firth who loves you and Hugh Grant who is lusting after you and a job on television. Stop whinging about things you silly bint!" Still, fun movie. Colin Firth and Hugh Grant fall into a fountain.
You know how Arnold "The Govenator" had the line "I'll be back" in every movie cause that was his 'thing'? I think poor Colin Firth's thing is going to be 'let's make sure we dunk him in a lake or something wearing a white shirt cause chicks dig him wet'. Not that I'm complaining, mind...
Another question for my British friends - there is this show I watch on BBC America called Homes Under the Hammer, where they show properties being auctioned. It is oddly compelling. Is it on there, or is it just something they show on BBC America? I watch it then I fantasise about being able to buy one of those properties some day.
I like BBC America, but it is almost always those home improvement type shows - Ground Force, Changing Rooms, etc. You lot must watch other things besides those type shows, yes? Any good comedies? They show Coupling on BBCA and The Office, and occasisionally some older show like Keeping Up Appearances (which might have another name there). My anglophileness would like to see more of the regular programming. I like Changing Rooms, but it gets boring after awhile.
