Post a favorite line from a film here. Any film. Don't tell me what film it is. Then go tell someone else to do it, or pimp it in your LJ or something. It will be great--Charge of the Non Sequitur Brigade.

My husband got a new job. A good job. It's pretty exciting. Maybe we can now start to really live like grown ups and get out of debt and things.

It did occur to me today that I really need to remember to be grateful for what I do have, because there are people worse off than me. Not always easy to remember, is it? It's easy to get sucked into the 'poor me' mode, and focus on all the people who have more than I do. But that is not the path to happiness.

Sometimes I look at all the Christmas decorations and think about how they really harken back to a point in history when mankind was pretty much doing things to make sure the sun comes back. All the Christmas lights are probably some kind of collective consciousness memory of lighting fires to remind the sun what its job is. This thought pattern is helped along by my annual reading of Hogfather, incidentially.

Rory made a Buffy reference on Gilmore Girls today. That was fun. Watching Gilmore Girls really makes me miss college. Yeah, I didn't go to Yale, but I really do miss the whole optimism of college. I miss all the potential futures I had then.

And finally, I had a sexyish dream about Colin Firth last night. He was flirting with me. Although I really think Colin in my dream was also The Boy I Loved In College, who Colin Firth kind of reminds me of. (or Colin as Mr Darcy at any rate) TBILIC had the same sort of dark eyed intensity and could exude that quiet sexuality when he walked into a room. It was one of those dreams that stuck with me all day. Sigh.

And now, off to put the young'un to bed. Wish me luck.
