The title is a direct quote from Charlie. Not sure if it is 12 inches, as I havn't measured, but I told him it was supposed to be, and it certainly looks like it, so I'll go with it. Started snowing around 10am yesterday and stopped around 7:30 last night, with some intermittent snow showers throughout the night. We're luckier than New England, it seems, our roads are already clear and the news channels are hopefully back to taking about things less obvious and more important, like the fact Johnny Carson died.

Yesterday Charlie's friend, his parents and a friend of theirs came over to spend the day with us as it snowed. (they live just down the street.) Charlie was happy to see D. again, and they proceeded to make the kind of noise 2 little boys do when they are stuck inside and they like playing together. We grown ups had some wine and played the Trival Persuit Pop Culture game, and had a nice time. My husband was feeling domestic for some reason, and he baked cookies. Later we went to their house as M.was making Chili. I'm not a Chili fan, but she makes a good Chili. We then watched The Village, which was a mistake. Not a good movie, but we all had a laugh, and that was worth it.

Today the sun came out, for all that it was bitterly cold, and we all went sledding. Or sledging, if you prefer. I took pictures. It was cold but fun. Charlie's enjoyment stopped though, when the strong wind took his sled (which is this inflatible thing) out of his hand and tossed it into the street. Fortunately J. Devon's other mom,was quick on the draw and was able to get it before it got run over by a car. That dampened Charlie's fun a bit.

Oh - Charlie was also adorable 'helping' Daddy dig out the driveway. He didn't have a shovel of his own so he just used his hands, digging much like a dog would. He called it 'dig-dugging'.

So it was a nice weekend, the weather doesn't look like it will interfere with work or school tomorrow, and that's nice. Go Eagles.

For the record I am not a football fan, but am nonetheless thrilled that the Philadelphia Eagles finally made it to the Superbowl. This is I think the 4th year in a row they got to this championship game only to lose. This time they made it. So, yay team.

I didn't watch the game because a) as I said, I don't like football and b) I couldn't stand the suspense. I turned it on a couple of times just to see the score, and was pleased when they were in the lead, but was afraid to continue watching, in case I witnessed them completely bollocksing it up.

I wish I could get sound on this thing because I would love to have you all hear Charlie playing the Eagles fight song on the piano and shouting "EAGLES" at the end of it.

So, everyone have a Cheesesteak or some tastykakes in honor of the Philadelphia Eagles, who,for the first time since 1980 won't have to say 'we'll get them next year."
