Clocks, death, bowling and pinball
Apr. 3rd, 2005 11:05 amI totally forgot to put the clocks forward last night. Fortuntely I had nowhere to go this morning and the cable box's time changes automatically.
A few days ago Charlie told me, completely out of the blue, that he died on August 9th, 1981. He's very adamant about this date. I asked him how he died but all he says is that he 'went into your tummy'. I keep hoping he'll start giving me details about the life he lead prior to 1891 but so far all I get is that date. I googled it and found some judge in San Francisco called Odgen Hoffman Jr. who died on that exact date. So reincarnation or an odd imagination? I guess we'll never know.
Charlie had a 'play date' with his friend yesterday, finallly. He's always asking to play with him, and for weeks our scheduled didn't mesh. Charlie called on Friday, and his friend's mom said he wasn't there and Charlie's face just fell. The look of disappointment on my boy's face broke my heart. Fortunately they were around yesterday and we took them bowling. It was fun. Here's a cute photo of Charlie bowling. ( bowling )
It turns out that Charlie is kind of a pinball wizard. There was a pinball machine at the bowling alley, and since it was raining the world and his wife decided to go bowling and we had to wait for our lane, we let the boys play some of the arcade games. For $1 you got 3 balls in the pinball game and Charlie proceeded to get about 5 extra turns because he racked up so many points. He sure plays a mean pinball.
