Charlie stories...
Jun. 7th, 2005 02:06 pmBack in April I signed Charlie up for a summer Karate program that starts on June 25th.
For the last couple of months, Charlie has been telling everyone that he starts Karate on the 7th of June. He would frequently tell me and anyone who would listen, "I can't wait to start my Karate on June 7th!" In vain did I tell him it was actually the 25th, he would insist that he was starting Karate on June 7th.
I realised that he would be dreadfully disappointed if he didn't start karate on June 7th, when I noticed on his magnetic calendar (you know, the one with the little magnetic pieces? It looks like this) he put the magnet that said 'martial arts' on June 7th.
He can be a very determined little boy.
Fortuntely the school that was doing the summer course actually has a class this evening, and the nice Sensei said I can bring Charlie in, and we'll figure out the payment etc later.
So Charlie is starting Karate on June 7th.
Last night Charlie answered the phone, which he doesn't often do (I thought my husband was getting it, he thought I was) and proceeded to talk the ear off this poor man who was just calling to find out about our credit card payment. This, pretty much, was how the conversation went:
