What a world...
Sep. 13th, 2005 12:30 pmWhy have I seen no less than four stories about child abuse/neglect today? Is it to compound my feelings of guilt I already have for snapping at Charlie this morning?
Why do news people report these stories anyway? Is it necessary for the general public to know this? Does it change anything? Does it make the world a better place because we are reminded that there are horrible people out in the world? I don't know.
As to the stories from
customers_suck, I guess it says something about the state of affordable day care in our country, or something. Nonetheless, if I didn't have someone to watch my child, I sure wouldn't assume some poor sales person in a store would be willing to do so.
I was going to say something about politics, but I don't think I'll articulate it correctly. I would, however, be very pleased if I could find a completely unpartisian point of view. What happened in New Orleans shouldn't be a Republican vs Democrat thing. There was fault on both sides, and both sides need to take responsibility for it. Some of the more 'right wing' things I've read seem to want to divide us up into white hats and black hats, and the world is just not that simple.
Anyway...will post something more cheerful later.
