Ramblings...
Dec. 29th, 2005 10:39 amCharlie is fully recovered. I took him to the doctor yesterday, because he'd complained his ear hurt, and he has a history of ear infections, but it turns out it was just the stomach virus that apparently is going around.
I used up part of my Target gift certificate and bought Charlie the Willie Wonka DVD to feed his growing love affair with all things Chocolate Factory, although I think in the end it was more of a present for my husband, who adored that movie as a child and actually asked for, and received, a purple coat when he was a child so he could look like Willie Wonka.
Not sure if I mentioned this, but one of Charlie's Christmas presents, one he'd asked for the most, was a 'karate suit' and lessons.

Earlier in the summer we tried lessons, but he didn't do so well, but he'd said repeatedly that he would listen to the 'sensai' and so we gave it another go. He did quite well, I am pleased to report. Sensai said he stayed pretty focused, and remarked how Charlie really works things through. He said he was showing him how to block, and the first couple of tries Charlie didn't get it, but he could see that he was thinking it through and the third time, he got it down. So go Charlie!
And that's the update on my life thus far. Thrilling, no?
