It's snowing like mad here. Still. Charlie is very pleased. It does look very pretty. Especially since I've no place to go, like the song says. Got some fun movies on DVD lying around the house, good friends within walking distance, so it should be a fun day.

I've been working on my mystery story, going through it, finding the descripancies and so forth so I can start the second draft. It's not too bad, really, if I do say so myself. I think I have a pretty decent mystery going, and it isn't as incomprehensible as I feared it would be. So yay me.

Charlie's been playing with this key ring full of antique, or at least old, keys that we have. We have old doors, too, so he's having fun trying to find the key that fits the lock.

And now he wants me to come downstairs and look at the cat, or something, so I guess I'd better go.

Charlie enjoying the blizzard of 2006

more under here )

As you can see, we took Charlie sledding. It's a bloody big hill, let me tell you, and a day full of sleds going down it made it like ice. My husband made me go down. I said I would if he would come with me, and he said okay but he jumped off and made me go by myself. I screamed a lot.

Charlie had a great time. He mostly went down the hill with his dad, as it was a bit daunting, but he enjoyed it very much. The last photo is of him going down snow covered steps. He loved that. He called it a 'mini-game'.

Someone sent me a LJ valentine because she is made of awesome. I don't want to say who unless she says it is okay, because I don't want other people to say, 'gosh why didn't I get one' if, you know, they didn't. I am smug now.

And cold. Need tea.

We had a bird in our house today. A bird. In our house. I was sitting on the couch, recovering from the shovelling, and suddenly I see this black shape fly up my stairs. I call Charlie to help me find the poor thing, and he found it perched on the hangers in my bedroom.

"Can we keep it as a pet?" he asked in a very hopeful voice.

I told him how wild birds wouldn't make good pets, and then spent the next ten minutes trying trying to figure out how to get it out of the house before it breaks its little neck on something while Charlie followed it delightedly as it flew around the house. I opened my bedroom window and the front door and eventually, thank goodness, it flew to freedom. Poor little thing.

I also forgot to mention that there was this article in Glamour or something that I was reading on Friday while waiting to get Charlie's hair cut that talked about 'women who blog'. It was a stupid article, really, but they mentioned LiveJournal so I felt all on the cutting edge and stuff.

That is all.
