Because it is that kind of day, I was looking up "Lena Blackburne" who was my grandmother's biological uncle, and was a professional baseball player, famous for coming up with this mud they rub on the balls* before the games.
I found this apparently rare photograph of him:

Kind of handsome in this photo. I've seen others that weren't as flattering. I'm trying to see if I can find family resemblances. I think he looks a bit like my sister, but that could just be my imagination.
We didn't know him - my great-grandmother divorced his brother when my grandmother was still very young, and as far as I know my grandmother didn't have any contact with that side of her family. My grandmother had a very sad life, actually.
Still, the genes are in there somewhere, so I suppose it's possible Charlie could be genetically disposed to baseball.
