Yesterday Charlie was playing with his friend Devon outside, and I was inside making my dessert thingy for the cast party. Suddenly Charlie comes bursting into the house shouting, "Mommy! Mommy! Emergency!"

So naturally I think something awful happened, and I run out to the hall to see Charlie standing there, an anxious look on his face. "Mommy, come here, quick!" he says, and drags me outside. He leads me to the telephone pole that is out front of our house, where someone had tacked a photo of a cute calico kitten who apparently got out of the house the other day and is now lost.

The whole time Charlie is babbling. "Look mommy. It's a black and white and brown kitten, and it's lost. His name is Cinnimon. We have to go find him."

He would have headed off right then and there, if I hadn't reminded him the Devon was over and he should finish playing with him. As soon as Devon left, however, Charlie begged me to help him look for the kitten.

Have you ever tried to look for a kitten that wasn't yours? I wasn't even sure where to start. So we wandered around the neighborhood for a bit looking for this cat. Some kids went by on bicycles and Charlie called out to them, but they didn't stop.

We talked with this nice lady who was in front of her house with her dog, but she hadn't see it either.

I knew it was time to stop when Charlie stood on the corner of the street and started calling out to the cars that passed, "Have you seen Cinnimon? He's lost. He's a kitten."

I even called the people to see if they found the cat yet, but they haven't.

I hope they do. It's really weighing on Charlie's mind.

I'm a happy camper because I found the three "real" episodes of Life on Mars that I didn't have, so now I have all of them, totally uncut.

I also discovered how to screencap from this video watching program thingy, and have been trying, with moderate success, in making icons.

Here's three that I made so far.

Free to good homes if anyone thinks they are worth taking.

I have other snaps from Life on Mars, but I'm not feeling clevr enough to come up with witty things to put on them. Maybe you can. I'll put them under the cut.

Pretty, pretty boys from Life on Mars )
