I was awakened today by my cat punching me in the eye.
Really. He was on my pillow as I was sleeping, and he stretched out his (undeclawed) paw and nailed me right in the corner of my eye - on my nose, thank goodness, but now it is swollen for some reason. And it hurts.
I'm thinking it is 2007's way of saying goodbye.
Not that 2007 was all bad. Despite everything, I was happy I got to spend a year at home with Charlie. We had a nice summer, and I think being there for him after school really helped him move forward in his recovery. He certainally is enjoying his after school care now, and is very social, so that's a good thing.
Still, I just feel like 2007 was rough, and I plan on putting all my energy into making 2008 much better. I'm reclaiming my life. Hopefully I'll do it right this time.
Tonight I am hanging out with my three best friends, which is a good way to end an old year and start a new one.
What are you all doing for New Year's Eve?
