Musings on Shakespeare
Aug. 14th, 2008 07:48 amSometimes I wonder if some of the things Shakespeare wrote wasn't so much because of the poetry, symmetry or imagery but simply to mess with the actor playing that part.
I have a line as Cordelia that goes as thus: "To be opposed against the warring winds/to stand against the deep dread bolted thunder/in the most terrible and nimble stroke of quick cross lightening."
Go ahead, try and say that and not stumble at 'quick cross'.
