Halloween Party
Oct. 30th, 2010 10:29 amI went to this super cool Halloween party with my BFF
rvnshadow2001.
It was located in Really Bloody Far Away, Pennsylvania and...get this...one of the streets we had to take to get there was called Gallows Hill Road. To get to a Halloween Party. In Really Bloody Far Away Pennsylvania. And it was a really dark, tree-lined, winding road. We saw a deer. A real, proper deer with antlers and everything.
Anyway...the party was at the home of a designer friend of
rvnshadow2001's. Pamela Ptak. She was on Project Runway last year. Her husband does inking or drawing (I forget which) for Marvel comics. I was a bit afraid everyone would be these super glamourous people, but, well, some were, but everyone was extremely kind and welcoming and we had a fabulous time.
And our costumes were a hit - I went as a 'china doll' and
rvnshadow2001 went as this sort of gothic awesome woman thing, and she was all in black and I was in white and everyone thought we did that on purpose:

We did look pretty cool.
There's something very affirming about being in the presence of self-actualised people like Pam and her husband. I'm sure they have their share of disappointment and sorrows, but they both are doing what they love, they seem genuinely fond of each other, and they were just happy people. It was nice.
Oh, and now I'm one degree away from Tim Gunn, which makes me two degrees away from Neil Patrick Harris. Just sayin...
