Charlie's 8th Grade School Photo
Nov. 10th, 2010 09:12 pmI'd been asking Charlie every day if he'd gotten his photos back, and today he tells me on the phone he has a surprise and I'm not to guess and I'm going to be really happy.
I get home, he goes to get his surprise, and cries out in frustration and disappointment because he left the photos at school. He was seriously upset, so I suggested we go to the school and see if anyone is there to let us in.
We go, we get in, we go to the classroom where he'd left them. Door is locked. We find a janitor who very kindly lets him in, and we get his photos. He was very relieved.
On the way to the school, I asked him how they came out. 'I look fabulous.' he said.
I think, on some level, I expected to see his cherubic little circa 8 year old face smiling up at me, so I have to admit it is disconcerting to see this teenager grinning in the photograph.
He does look fabulous, though:
