Before I begin this story there are two things you have to know. Charlie is, in his own, very intense words, 'a BIG fan of Michael Jackson.' and his friend has the Michael Jackson Experience dance game for the Wii that Charlie's played on many occasions.

And Charlie has absolutely no self-consciousnesses at all. Three. Three things you must know.

Anyway...

Tonight my BFFs ([livejournal.com profile] kirathaune and [livejournal.com profile] rvnshadow2001) I went to The British Chip Shop for a 'Beatles Sing Along' - 20% of the proceeds was going to the South Jersey Food Bank, and we like singing Beatles songs and eating the food there*. The entertainment was provided by Sir Beatle and he was fun and pretty good.

So we were having a jolly good time eating our bangers and mash and singing along to the songs. It was nice and crowded and everyone was getting into it.

Then 'Sir Beatle' took a break and the DJ put on some music. The second song to play was Michael Jackson's Thriller.

Charlie got up so fast he nearly knocked the chair over and started dancing to the song, a very serious and intent look on his face. Well, naturally the DJ noticed this and pointed it out to the audience in full DJ voice 'Look at this guy! He's fantastic! Give him a round of applause!' and so on. I nearly died with laughter.

Then one of the servers who I dubbed Russell Tovey cause he looked like him came over and danced with Charlie, and my friend [livejournal.com profile] rvnshadow2001, who is an amazing dancer and knows that dance quite well, got up and danced with him as well, much to the delight of the DJ.

So in addition to the regular entertainment there was a half-time show starring my son. He got a huge round of applause.

There was someone there, presumably from the Food Bank, taking tons of photos so hopefully they will be one or two of Charlie eventually. I will have to keep my eye out.

Because I go to the Chip Shop and the 'English Gardener Shop' over the road so often, the owner knows me and he came over to say hello. I felt Very Important.

It was a good night.

*I have been assured by an actual British person that the chips aren't exactly as good as they are in the UK, but they're close.
