Aug. 30th, 2011 09:19 am*Points to icon* That photo was taken in 2009, at Thanksgiving. A comparable photo now would show that Charlie is now about a half and inch taller than I.
In less than a week, he turns 14, and in exactly 1 week he starts high school.
Yesterday morning, we went to his High School orientation. When we arrived, he saw a bunch of kids he knew, and so went to sit with them, with nodded encouragement from me. One was The Girl, but he's apparently over his crush and just happy to be there. She gave him a hug when the met, so I was pleased to see she still likes him 'as a friend'.
I sat on a bleacher alone, half-listening to what the students were being told and wondered, as all parents do, where the time went.
