So anyway...
Nov. 16th, 2011 07:00 amI'm so far behind on LJ. I'm trying to catch up on everyone, in between trying to get reoriented to American time and suchlike.
So...the trip. It was fantastic. I have so many things I want to tell you all, it would be the biggest TL:DR ever, so I'll try to break it down in to smaller, hopefully interesting bits. And I do have photos. When I have time to really sift through everything I shall post the highlights.
Especially the Doctor Who Experience. It was so much fun! They had the costumes on display! And some of the monsters! And the 'experience' part was just delightful. Wonderfully put together, and Matt Smith's performance in the little interactive video thing was fantastic. He's truly amazing.

drop_and_roll there, and that was great. I was so nice to meet her IRL and she was also fantastic. *waves* I really enjoyed getting to know her, and she very kindly forgave me for being mostly a babbling idiot, what with the lack of sleep, excitement, and jet-lag I was riding on.
She introduced us to Nandos (Think that's how it is spelled) a delightful chicken restaurant that we never would have known of otherwise, so thanks for that, too.
I've lived in England in my head for so long that I honestly felt at home there from the second we were off the plane. It helps that Dave knows his way around, so we weren't consulting maps every five minutes and trying to ask directions. And frankly I had fun saying things like 'I'm going to the loo' or 'lets take the lift' without sounding too pretentious.
We were in the airport at 11am on 11 November, and therefore fortunate enough to be able to participate in the 2 minutes silence. That was nice. Even if the 'giggle loop' episode of Coupling ran through my head.
I also loved how pretty much everyone had on poppies the entire weekend.
We also had the opportunity to meet [Unknown site tag] and her husband for lunch on Saturday. I had so much fun. They are an adorable couple, and so much fun to talk to. We sat for over 2 hours chatting in the pub, discussing the merits of lifts over stairs in certain Tube stops. :)
The most important thing that happened this weekend, however was The Proposal, but that, alas, I have to save for another post, as it is almost 7am and I need to get ready for work.
