Update from me
Feb. 14th, 2013 06:22 amHappy Valentine's Day to everyone!
It's our first 'married' Valentine's Day, so that's exciting I guess.
I did get the bargain of the day for Dave The Husband's present, though. See, we like going to local wineries, and we like drinking the wine, so naturally we've started to obtain all the little wine accroutements. One such was a thing that went on the neck of the bottle that stopped drips. Unfortunately that managed to get lost. I have a feeling someone one (me, most likely) didn't take it off a bottle before putting it in the recycling. So I decided that would be a good gift to Dave.
Unfortunately, I didn't think of it until yesterday, and you know what? Those things are hard to find. I ended up at JC Pennys (or JCP as they seem to be trying to call themselves now) and they had this kit that had, among other things, the drip stopper. There were a couple of things we didn't need in the kit, but it was only $12, so I thought 'what the heck'. I took it to the checkout till and the guy rang me up and guess what? It was only $3!!! So basically I spent $3 on a drip stopper and got a bunch of other stuff for free.
I love a good bargain.
Not sure if I ever mentioned our wine thing, actually. Kind of started when we were looking for a wedding venue, as we'd decided we a winery might be a classy place. It became our 'thing' to go to local wineries in Jersey and PA, and then I had the clever idea that we should collect wine glasses from each place. I love the glasses, actually. They have the name of the winery on them, and if we ever have a party, we have enough that everyone could have a unique glass, eliminating the need for those wine glass charm things.
We plan on getting to Napa Valley eventually, and then, of course, something in Europe someday, perhaps.
Charlie continues to do fairly well. He seems happy in school, and talks about kids he's made friends with, so that's good.
I have a job interview today for a part time gig - 4 hours a day. It may be ideal. Bit extra money, it's only 8 minutes from home, and won't interfere with my housewify things.
How are you all doing?
