I actually use my real email (as in sending to myself) usually. The problem with yousendit is that it only allows for the file to be downloaded 10-15 times, whereas rapidshare is unlimited number of downloads. In fact, they will keep it on their servers if you get at least one download for a month, I think. There is the 20(?)Mb/hour cap, however.
But the truth is, that if you want to send a big file to one person your best bet is trough IRC or IMs, imo, as it will will be much faster.
