Before they went out, Coach Rick (who is, by the way, georgous) made sure to tell them he only wanted to hear positive things, like 'nice try'.
I love this quality in a children's coach, and it's not always easy to find. (I meant the encouragement, not the gorgeousness, though I suppose that's not always easy to find either). Some of the kids' hockey coaches I've seen in action have stressed victory and skills over fun and friendship, to the point that I don't think they should be allowed to participate in children's sports.
