There was an article in CNN.com about Howard Stern and how the FCC is 'cleaning up the airwaves'. Now I am not a Howard Stern fan. Bit too sophomoricfor my tastes, and he whines way too much, but I respect him for being good at what he does. He always knew just how far to push the envelope, and he made millions of people laugh, so good for him. He doesn't offend me because I don't listen to him. It bugs me to no end when people complain about something they can control by simply turning off the TV or radio. Yeah, I think 8pm shows are a bit raunchy at times, but if I don't want my son exposed, I don't watch it when he's there. Ditto with violent things - which is why I never watch the news any more.

Anyway...my long in coming point is this: There are far worse things going on in the world than people talking innuendo and using the occasional naughty word, so why any branch of the government is spending time and money worrying about it is beyond me.

Freedom of Speech means that sometimes someone is going to say something you don't want to hear. It's the price we pay for being lucky enough to be able to say what we want to say.

And on a different note, my baby sister turned 30 today. Happy birthday Susan! I love you!
