The online comic tells us that ikiN had to wait six months for the money to be laundered, so presumably she's only just got it back and didn't have it when the mob came knocking. Besides, ikiN seems like the type to pick tearing people in half over paying them back any day.
God, that ep just about broke my heart. D.L. and Micah and cute family awesomeness and don't you just want ikiN to GO AWAY so Niki and D.L. and Micah can be happy? *sniff*
It also made my day, through Hiro's beatific smile when he heard that future!him had a sword, and Mr. Bennett's reaction to hearing that there was someone who could stop space and time on the loose - "That's cool". Okay, he's possibly evil, but he definitely appreciates the superpowers. I like some geek in my guy.
