Thank heaven for little girls

charliesmumRight. Trying the photos of baby Emmeline again. Don't know what went weird last time, but it wasn't coming out right.
There was a big drama about Emmeline's name - my sister and her husband's top choice was Summer, but when she came into the world, she jus didn't look like a Summer, so they went to their other top choice.
Clementine.
My mother freaked out as only my mother could. How could you do that to a child and what kind of name is that, and that's a horrible name for my granddaughter and so forth. Sister called me in the morning on Friday to tell me about it and ask my advice. I told her that it's her child, and if that's what she wants to name it, then she should regardless of anyone's opinion and I'm sure we'll get used to it eventually; but the fact that she didn't just tell my mom to STFU and stick with the name, she waited and was asking me which indicates to me she isn't sure. Then we discussed other names, and she said she'd liked Emmeline or Evelengine, but her husband wasn't sure. (yes, they are Lost fans) I said both of those were nice, and I rather liked Emmeline, and, well, you see the outcome. Emmeline it is.
Meanwhile, I've got nothing done this weekend. It's just one of those times where everything seems to get away from a person. Yesterday I had to have an 'exit physical' for my former employers that took much longer than I thought it would. Then I went to see the baby, then had to get my hair cut, then had to go pick husband up at work yesterday due to the Truck Situation, so the amount of things I'd planned to do and didn't is rather high. Today I spent way too long driving with husband to look at a new truck, but we wound up not taking it home, because the guy didn't have the title. So guess what I get to do on Mother's day morning? Drive to a little podunk town called New Egypt and get a new truck. Lucky me, no?
So I hope everyone's weekend is going well. I have to go catch up on everyone's journal.
