This headline just made me giggle:Shoe tossed at ex-Pentagon adviser during debate To quote Austin Powers 'who throws a shoe?' However, I do appreciate the sentiment behind it.

The Constantine movie is out today (They didn't call it Hellblazer I don't have to believe it...) here's the description of Movie!John from CNN.com: From early childhood, Constantine is one of the few humans who could actually see these creatures as they really are -- to the rest of us they appear to be normal people. The images were so disturbing that he attempted suicide as a teenager. He failed, but he did spend two minutes in hell.

Now he spends his life trying to redeem himself. Since this story is based on Catholic dogma, and suicide is a mortal sin, Constantine is destined to return to hell at the end of his life here on earth. He's hoping that if he sends enough demons back to where they came from, he'll get a reprieve in the form of a one-way ticket to the Pearly Gates.

Gah! Hollywood couldn't even leave his backstory alone. John is not a nice guy. He'd probably like to be on some level, but he's gone too far to ever be a nice guy.

I'd also like to point out that it says at the end of the synopsis that he is 'pushing 50' now, so theoretically Sting could've played him. I still wish it was James Marsters though. But Keanu has box office appeal, for whatever reason, so there you go. (Hey, maybe Keanu did sell his soul. That would explain a lot!)

I had other stuff to babble about, but I really should get back to work.
