You know I love my job. It can be annoying at times, and sometimes I feel like a complete cock-up doing it, but overall I like the people and I like what I'm doing. Plus where I'm doing it makes up for any downside that crops up.

However, there are moments where I'd quite happily keel haul certain people.*

Here's the story.

School has started, so we're sending consultants all over the place once again. One of the places we're doing work is in Madison County, Florida, waaaaaaay up at the top of the state, just an hour outside Tallahassee.

We didn't get the schedule confirmed until early last week, and I was waiting to see if we were going to push the first trip until October, which was a mistake on my part, and I wound up having to book the travel late Saturday night. But, book it I did, shan't bore you with details, got the hotel, got the car, everything is lovely.

Sent the info to the consultants.

Get a call from one consultant, whom we will call Alice. She is very upset with me for booking the travel without speaking to her first, even though she was away at the time, and I couldn't get a hold of her.

She was upset with me because somehow, despite the fact she never told me this, she wanted to spend a couple of extra days in Florida so she could visit family.

In Tampa.

And now she wants me to change the flight - for a cost of almost $200, so she can drive to Tampa.

Not gonna happen. She wants to do it, she can do it, and she can pay for it.

Grrrrrrr

*See that? I worked in a pirate reference, for International Talk Like a Pirate Day!
