Spent a large part of the day at the town pool. Have sunburn on my thighs where I didn't put enough sunscreen. The water was freezing, but it was a hot day, so we 'grown ups' did go in. Charlie, well, he'd swim if there were icecubes floating next to him. He is very tired now.

Went with Charlie's Best Friend D., his two mommies and their friends (and mine by now, I should think) who are also a lesbian couple. It's fun being the only straight girl amongst lesbians. Yes there were toaster jokes.

So the first pool trip of the season. Summer has officially started!

Sleep now.

PS: Charlie hated the movie Madagasgar. Maybe a movie about a carnivore reverting to his carnivore wasys isn't the best subject for children. I'm just saying.

The toaster joke came from the "Coming Out" episode of Ellen. (I think that's where it came from - she may have taken it from somewhere else.)

Anyway - This woman, who is gay, told Ellen she thought she, Ellen, was also gay, and Ellen freaked out, and made some comment about 'recruiting' or something, and the woman said sarcastically, 'darn, one more and I would have gotten the toaster oven'.

The very last scene was a joke scene with Ellen being given some 'official' paperwork by Melissa Etheridge, and the woman (whose name I forget) got the toaster oven.

So, we were joking about me being 'recruited', hence the toaster jokes.

*nods*

Well, we giggled. :)

DreamWorks is a hit-or-miss studio, i think, especially when it comes to animation.

But then again, I could simply be harboring a small grudge for destroying Shrek.
